What is Sade Sati?

In classical Vedic astrology, Sade Sati (literally "seven and a half") refers to Saturn's approximately 7.5-year transit across three consecutive signs: the 12th, 1st, and 2nd rashi counted from your natal Moon. Each phase lasts roughly 2.5 years as Saturn takes about 30 months to cross one sign.

The calculation follows classical house significations: Saturn transiting the 12th, 1st, or 2nd counted from your natal Moon marks the Sade Sati window. Ashtama Shani (Saturn in the 8th from Moon) and Kantaka Shani (4th) are tracked separately. All three are checked here.
